JR52469: CWWBE0074E OCCURS WHEN YOU SEND MULTIPLE REQUESTS THAT HAVE THE SAME CORRELATION INFORMATION

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If simultaneous requests with the same correlation set are sent,
    and there is no process instance waiting for this correlation
    set yet, both requests might try to create a process instance at
    the same time with the same correlation information.
    
    The second request might fail with the CWWBE0074E error if the
    request is processed before the transaction of the first request
    completes.
    
    The exact exception that causes the error varies depending on
    the database type used. You might see the
    com.ibm.websphere.ce.cm.DuplicateKeyException or a more generic
    exception like com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException.
    The exception details indicates the problem of inserting a
    duplicate key in the correlation set table
    (CORRELATION_SET_INSTANCE_B_T ).
    

Local fix

  • Modify the application to ensure that requests that might
    create a process instance and use the same correlation
    information are processed sequentially.
    

Problem summary

  • Because a correlation set must uniquely identify a process
    instance, only the first of the requests succeeds and a
    CWWBE0074E occurs for the second request.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is/will be available for IBM BPM V8.5.5 that retries
    processing the second request so that this request can be
    received by the newly created process instance.
    
    On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
    for JR52469:
    
    1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
      the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
      level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
    
    2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR52469, and click Continue.
    
    When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
    the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
    additional installation instructions and information about the
    fix.
