APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • As an administrative user, when you run task or process queries
by using REST or JavaScript APIs you might not get any results
if either the assignedToRole or assignedToUser search condition
    is specified.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • IBM BPM offers REST and JavaScript APIs that you can use to
query tasks and process instances according to customizable
search conditions. When you specify a condition based on the
assignedToRole or assignedToUser attributes, the results are
additionally constrained by IBM BPM regarding the relationship
between the calling user and the specified roles and users. If
you are an administrative users, these additional constraints
are superfluous because they incorrectly prevent access to all
available tasks and processes. This error occurs when one of the
    /tasks/query, /processes/query, /search/query REST APIs or the
JavaScript API that uses the TWSearch construct are called.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is/will be available for IBM BPM that removes the user-
and role-based constraints when administrative users run
    queries.
