Error description

  • 1. In a new FEP8 environment, where pre-process has never been
ran on it

2. Set up sharding by running setup search index with sharding
parameters, filling in property files, etc.

3. Run di-parallel-process

4. It will fail with a generic error

Local fix

  • Run pre-process before run di-parallel-process

WebSphere Commerce 7 User who wants to use shard indexing

PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
di-parallel-process(shard indexing) will fail if preprocess
never ran

BUSINESS IMPACT:
Cannot run shard indexing.

RECOMMENDATION:

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed the CatalogHierarchyDataPreProcessor to use the APGROUP
table scope tag and added the CGPUB into the full-build xml.
