Error description
When you set a user attribute by using Bulk User Attribute Assignment in the Process Admin Console, the user access functions that Process Portal, JavaScript APIs, REST APIs, and task email notifications use still remain the old values.
Local fix
You can use one of these workarounds: In the Process Admin Console, go to User Management > Bulk User Attribute Assignment and change the user attributes. For more information, see ?Assigning user attributes? (https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSFPJS_8.5.0/com.ib m.wbpm.admin.doc/common/topic/assigning_user_attributes.html?cp= SSFPJS_8.5.0&lang=en). Then go to IBM BPM Admin > Manage Caches and reset the Profile cache. For more information, see ?Resetting Process Server caches? (https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSFPJS_8.5.0/com.ib m.wbpm.admin.doc/adminguide/topic/managing_procsvr_caches_dbs_A. html?cp=SSFPJS_8.5.0&lang=en). Use the user REST API to change the user attributes. For more information, see ?REST Interface for BPD-related Resources - User Resource - PUT Method?, see https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSFPJS_8.5.0/com.ibm .wbpm.ref.doc/rest/bpmrest/rest_bpm_wle_v1_user_usernameorid_put .htm?cp=SSFPJS_8.5.0&lang=en). Log in to Process Portal and change the user attributes in the user profile. For more information, see ?Setting preferences in Process Portal? (https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSFPJS_8.5.0/com.ib m.wbpm.wle.widget.doc/topics/tport_preferences.html?cp=SSFPJS_8. 5.0&lang=en).
Problem summary
The Process Admin Console updates only the database content. If the Profile cache is already populated, Process Portal, JavaScript APIs, REST APIs, and task email notifications use the outdated Profile cache content.
Problem conclusion
A fix is/will be available for IBM BPM V8.5.0.1 that enables the Process Admin Console to update the Profile cache. With the fix applied, Process Portal, JavaScript APIs, REST APIs, and task email notifications use the correct user attributes. On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search for JR51902: 1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack level, and your platform, and then click Continue. 2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR51902 and click Continue. When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for additional installation instructions and information about the fix.
