Error description

  • In IBM Process Portal, when you click a completed task in the
    Work > My Tasks task list, you should see a warning message that
    indicates that the task has already been completed. After you
    close the message, the details for the process instance that the
    task is associated with should be displayed in the left pane
    and the right pane should be updated to show the process
    instance stream. This behavior occurs correctly the first time
    you click a completed task. However, if you click a completed
    task again, Process Portal does not display the warning message
    but only the task name in the left pane. The right pane is not
    updated.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • An internal flag indicating that a message is being displayed
    stays turned on, even after you close the message.  As a result,
    the next time you click a completed task, the IBM BPM thinks
    that a message is already being displayed and, therefore, does
    not display the message. Because closing the message displays
    the instance details in the left pane and the process instance
    stream in the right pane, those actions do not recur until you
    log in to and log back out of Process Portal, thereby resetting
    the flag.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.0.1.3 that properly clears the
    internal flag when you close the warning message, allowing the
    message to be displayed as needed after the first time it is
    displayed.
    
    On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
    for JR51877:
    
    1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
    the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
    level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
    2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR51877, and click Continue.
    
    When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
    the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
    additional installation instructions and information about the
    fix.
