APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The Run Query REST API (/rest/bpm/wle/v1/search/query) does not
parse a date value in ISO-8601 format correctly. Only the date
portion of the specified value is interpreted; the time and time
zone information is ignored. The time value used is 00:00:00 in
the time zone of the server.

ISO-8601 format is expected by all other REST APIs with a date
value as input (f.e. process/task update due date).

Local fix

  • Specify the date in local server time by using the format
    "yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss.SSS".

Problem summary

  • All date values are interpreted in server time zone in the
format "yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss.SSS". In addition, the following
formats are accepted by using normalization (ignoring
    separators):

"yyyy MM dd HH mm ss"
"MM dd yyyy HH mm ss
    "yyyy MM dd HH mm"
    "MM dd yyyy HH mm"
    "yyyy MM dd"
    "MM dd yyyy"
"MMM dd yyyy HH mm ss"
    "MMM dd yyyy HH mm"
    "MMM dd yyyy"
To support code that has been adapted to the current behavior,
the old parsing algorithm is still used if the date cannot be
    parsed as ISO-8601.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is/will be available for IBM BPM that allows you to
specify date values for the Run Query REST API in ISO-8601
    format.
