Error description
When you use the REST API /exposed to retrieve exposed items other than services, or if you use IBM Process Portal (which invokes the API to populate the Launch tab in the right pane of the My Work page, in addition to the Dashboards menu), the API retrieves each exposed item (other than services) in each toolkit that each process application snapshot refers to. With a large number of snapshots that refer to toolkits, the set of items that the API returns can grow large, with some items being duplicated when multiple snapshots of the same application are deployed. A fix that extends the fix for APAR JR51596 (http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1JR51596), which addresses this issue for exposed services retrieved by the API, is needed to address the other types of exposed items (processes, reports, and scoreboards). Problem summary
The /exposed REST API, with the fix for APAR JR51596 applied, provides an option for filtering the services that are exposed in toolkits that snapshots refer to but does not provide options for the other types of exposed services: processes, reports, and scoreboards. As a result, each exposed process, report, or scoreboard in a toolkit is included in the API's result set, once for the toolkit itself plus once for each time a process application snapshot refers to the toolkit.
Problem conclusion
A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.0.0 and V8.5.0.1 that adds new values to the excludeReferencedFromToolkit parameter for the exposed services REST API and to the com.ibm.bpm.portal.excludeReferencedFromToolkit configuration property for Process Portal (both were introduced in the fix for APAR JR51596). The resulting set of values is now process - for all processes report - for all reports scoreboard - for all scoreboards dashboard - for dashboard services startable_service - for startable services url - for URL services administration_service - for administration services service - for all services (overrides dashboard, startable_service, url, and administration_service subtypes) all - all items including all services (subtypes) When you specify a type or service subtype, exposed services of that type or subtype within toolkits are not included in any application context that refers to them and, therefore, is included only once in the API result set (for the toolkit itself). On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search for JR51814: 1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack level, and your platform, and then click Continue. 2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR51814, and click Continue. When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for additional installation instructions and information about the fix.
