Error description

  • When you create a service, for example, a general system
service, by using a server script, and the service allows
JavaScript as part of its implementation, the script is marked
with an error if you enter a "try block" that starts on the
first line. Hovering over the error marker displays more
    information: Missing ; before statement.

    IBM BPM Express

Local fix

  • If you move the entire try block to the second line of the
service script, the script error no longer occurs.

Problem summary

  • The internal JavaScript parser does not recognize the beginning
of a try statement properly when it is written on the first line
    of a script node.

Problem conclusion

  • In a later release the internal JavaScript parser will allow the
beginning of a try statement that is on the first line of a
    script node.
