Error description

• Although the "Optimize for Latency" flag is set for a business
  process definition (BPD), Event Manager tasks are scheduled and
  the BPD runs in several different threads.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• When IBM BPM runs a BPD with the ?Optimize for Latency? flag set
  to true, Event Manager tasks are still scheduled in case the
  server crashes. Usually, these Event Manager tasks do not run by
  the Event Manager but by code that implements the ?Optimize for
  Latency? algorithm. This code runs an Event Manager task only if
  the scheduled time of this Event Manager task is before the
  current time; otherwise, the task is passed to the Event Manager
  to be run  in a different thread. However, the scheduled time
  timestamp in the Event Manager task is adjusted to the time of
  the database system. If the server time differs from the
  database time, the ?Optimize for Latency? algorithm might pass
  tasks to the Event Manager although they should have run
  immediately in the current thread.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.5.0 that adjusts the ?now?
  timestamp to the database time before using it for comparison
  with the scheduled time of the Event Manager task.
  
  On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
  for JR51698:
  
  1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
    the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
    level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
  
  2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR51698, and click Continue.
  
  When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
  the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
  additional installation instructions and information about the
  fix.
