Error description

  • If a user task is assigned to a team, the team's manager may
    reassign the user to any user, even a user who is outside the
    manager's team. However, this user might try to reassign the
    task to any user, which is not desirable. Users should not be
    allowed to reassign tasks to other members of the team. This
    most often happens in the process portal with the My Team
    Performance dashboard.
    If a task is assigned to a system User using
    tw.system.findTaskById().reassignTo(tw.system.user) API  and
    then reassigned back to the role using
    tw.system.findTaskById().reassignBackToRole() API the Role
    assignment for the task changes to "null".

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The action of a manager reassigning the user task to a user
    outside his team negated an authorization check for the
    receiving user to restrict the task owner's reassignment
    options.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.5.0 that re-establishes this
    authorization check.
