Error description

  • When you invoke a web service from an integration service and
    are using more than one level of simple type inheritance for
    date, datetime, or time, you might see the following
    exception:

    <xsd:simpleType name="L1_Timestamp">
    <xsd:restriction base="xsd:dateTime"/>
    </xsd:simpleType>
    <element name="L2_Timestamp">
    <simpleType>
    <restriction base="Q1:L1_Timestamp"/>
    </simpleType>
    </element>

    The element L2_Timestamp is based on dateTime but with two
    levels of inheritance. As a result, you see the following
    exception at run time:

    com.lombardisoftware.core.TeamWorksException: Attempt to
    deserialize element of simple type L2_Timestamp failed because
    its XML Schema type: L1_Timestamp is not one of: dateTime,
    date, or time.

Local fix

  • do not use multiple levels of inheritance in the schemas
