APAR status

Error description

  • When loading attributes in multiple languages using the same CSV
row, or the same xml noun, Dataload will report an error
similar to the following:
An exception was caught:
com.ibm.commerce.catalog.dataload.exception.CatalogDataLoadAppli
cationException: The assigned value with identifier "Sample
Attribute Value" for the attribute "Sample Attribute" already
exists in the system. An assigned value identifier cannot be
assigned to multiple catalog entries. Specify an attribute value
 with a unique identifier.
Application message:
An error occurred while transforming the data object into
physical objects. Data Object:
com.ibm.commerce.catalog.facade.datatypes.impl.CatalogEntryTypeI
mpl@3a483a48 (catalogEntryTypeCode: ProductBean,
displaySequence:<unset>, navigationPath: null), Physical

Local fix

  • Reformatting the data so that each language appears in separate
csv rows or xml elements will bypass this issue.

development timelines.

RECOMMENDATION:

Problem conclusion

  • The mediator is modified to ensure that attributes which have
already been processed in the same row or element are properly
recognized as existing by the time the second attribute language
 is encountered.
