Error description

  • The Promotions Tool in Management Center is limited to showing
only 500 promotions for a given store in the main promotions
list.  Folders are provided to allow users to better organize
their promotions.  Since the first release of Management Center,
 the main list shows all promotions, whether they are in folders
 or not.  What is needed is a means to show on the main
promotions list, only those promotions that are not  in folders.

  • USERS AFFECTED:
 WebSphere Commerce business users who have a difficult time
managing a large number of promotions in the Promotion Tool on
CMC and would like to have an option of controlling which
promotions are shown in the main list view.


 PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
 New capability to enable the main promotion list view to be
limited to only promotions that are not in folders

 BUSINESS IMPACT:
 Business users may not be able to manage all promotions in
Management Center.

Problem conclusion


    

  • A configuration parameter "ListOnlyPromotionsNotInFolders" is
added to wc-admin-component.xml in the
xml/config/com.ibm.commerce.promotion-fep directory.  The
default value for this flag is "false", which will keep the
previous behavior of displaying all promotions in the main list.
  Setting the flag to "true" will limit the main promotion list
to  showing only promotions that are NOT assigned to folders.
