Error description

  • Currently, using the document list coach view, a user is able to
    upload document content in a file of any file size, without
    restriction. The administrator needs the ability to specify a
    maximum size for uploads, because a user may deplete resources
    (such as disk space and network throughput) by uploading
    extremely large files or by uploading files that are not
    required for the use cases defined.
    This specification should be a configurable option.

       The problem that can seen is that uploading or downloading
    ECM files cause a Coach to use a lot of memory and may require a
    long time to complete the query -- in one case taking 10 to 20
    seconds vs. 2 to 5 seconds.

Problem summary

  • The administrator needs to be able to restrict the size of
    document content uploads.

Problem conclusion

  • To address this problem, a new server configuration option has
    been added, in which the server administrator can provide a
    maximum file upload size for the document list coach view. For
    example, to enable this functionality and limit document uploads
    to 1 MB, the administrator can edit 100Custom.xml with the
    following XML markup. Notice that file size must be specified in
    bytes (i.e. 1048576 bytes = 1MB):

    <server>
    <document-attachment-max-file-size-upload>1048576</document-atta
    chment-max-file-size-upload>
    </server>

    For information on updating the 100Custom.xml file, refer to
