APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Sometimes when a Coach is submitted with a select component that
  is unbounded (using a selection service), the validation doesn't
  work correctly and the field isn't highlighted in red.
  
  There are two identified causes:
  1. The first is that the single selection with no binding was
  not showing a validation error when there was no selection.
  2. The second issue is that the Select control validation does
  not work after a task is postponed.

Local fix

Problem summary

• Coach validation does not highlight invalid fields on a Select
  view when a selection service is used to populate the selection
  list.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix is available for IBM Business Process Manager (BPM)
  Advanced 8.5.0.1  that preserves the original binding string of
  the Select view so that the validation correctly identifies and
  displays a validation warning when the Selection view does not
  contain a valid selection.
  
  The fix for IBM BPM 8.5.0.1 has been included as part of
  cumulative fix JR50541. On Fix Central
  (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search for JR50541:
  
  
  1.Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from the
  product selector, the installed version to the fix pack level,
  and your platform, and then click Continue.
  2.Select APAR or SPR, enter JR50541, and click Continue.
  
  When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
  the readme file for each fix.
  Review each readme file for additional installation instructions
  and information about the fix.
