JR50107: INFOSPHERE DATA ARCHITECT CANNOT COPY DIAGRAM WHEN DIAGRAM HAS NOTE OBJECT.

APAR status

Error description

• User  is using IDA 8.1.
  
  Not able to copy a diagram from one package to another within
  the same logical model.
  
  User selects any diagram and right click and get the option to
  copy then right click on any package that user want to place a
  copy in and get the option to paste but nothing happens.  No
  error message diagram not copied.
  
  Tried using Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V using any package/diagram; get
  java null message.
  
  User will be  able to drag and drop a diagram to different
  package but this is cutting and pasting, not copying.
  
  The problem is reproducible with IDA 9.1.1.0 without getting
  nullpointer exception when doing Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V but diagram
  is not copying.
  
  The cause that is found is  note object present in user's model.
  

Local fix

• Upon deleting the note object from the diagram user can
  complete the copy and paste.
  

Problem summary

• This problem was fixed in IBM InfoSphere Data Architect v9.1.2.
