  compression feature, as it is unable to decompress responses.

Problem summary

• USERS AFFECTED:
   WebSphere Commerce site administrator who configure the
  WebSphere Commerce search  web server with WebSphere Commerce.
  
   PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
   Compression using gzip cannot be enabled on the WebSphere
  Commerce search web server to optimize site performance.
  
   BUSINESS IMPACT:
   Site performance is not optimal if gzip compression of the
  WebSphere Commerce search web server is disabled.
  
   RECOMMENDATION:
   This APAR adds gzip compression support for the WebSphere
  Commerce search web server.
  

Problem conclusion

• The inter-server component has been updated to handle GZIP HTTP
  communications between the WebSphere Commerce and WebSphere
  Commerce search servers. Site performance with internal HTTP
  requests can be optimized. This update also enables reading the
  WebSphere Commerce search server responses using
  ByteArrayOutputStream to improve performance, instead of reading
   byte-by-byte.
