Error description
When you perform a task search in IBM Process Portal by entering search terms in the search box in the My Tasks or Saved Searches tab, memory objects that are created during the search might not be freed from memory when the search is complete. As a result, issues might occur, such as open file handles in the search index directory on the file system where the search index is located. Improvements to the memory handling and are needed, as are improvements to the tracing of task retrieval to better facilitate the diagnosis of issues that might occur. Problem summary
As task indexing files are opened by the task search retrieval function, tracking open file handles is incorrect, which might result in the inability to close some file handles when a task is retrieved.
Problem conclusion
A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.0.1.1 and V8.0.1.2 that corrects how open file handles are tracked when tasks are retrieved and enhances the trace capabilities. As a result, you receive better information that you can use for problem determination in the event of a failure. The errors are written to the system log files. On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search for JR49935: 1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack level, and your platform, and then click Continue. 2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR49935, and click Continue. When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for additional installation instructions and information about the fix.
