Error description

  • When using /teamworks/ExecuteServiceByName without
    specifying snapshot parameter fails in Process Server
    environment.
    Snapshot name is 'null' not found in <toolkit> error is seen.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The issue occurs because a Process Server environment, unlike a
    Process Center environment, does not have the concept of a
    default toolkit snapshot.  In a Process Server environment, the
    flag that indicates whether the toolkit snapshot is default or
    not is not set when it is deployed.  Consequently, if the
    snapshot=<snapshot_name> parameter is not provided, then no
    snapshot will be found.
    The following error can be seen in the SystemOut.log file:

    com.lombardisoftware.core.TeamWorksException:Snapshot name is
    'null' not found in <toolkit>
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM 8.0.1.0 and 8.0.1.2 that the
    proper toolkit snapshot is now looked up when executing a
    service using the /teamworks/executeServiceByName URI in the
    Process Server environment.
    
    On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
    for JR49701:
    1.Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from the
    product selector, the installed version to the fix pack level,
    and your platform, and then click Continue.
    2.Select APAR or SPR, enter JR49701, and click Continue.
    When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
    the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
    additional installation instructions and information about the
    fix.
