APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If you encounter a problem while you are indexing tasks for a
full text search, you might see many queries repeated in the
database. For example, you might see

    SELECT t.task_id, t.user_id, t.group_id, t.subject,
    t.bpd_instance_id,
    t.status, t.snapshot_id, i.instance_name,
    i.cached_bpd_version_id
    FROM lsw_task t, lsw_bpd_instance i
    WHERE t.bpd_instance_id = i.bpd_instance_id
    AND t.task_id = ?
    WITH ur

You also might not get as many results from task searches in IBM
Process Portal as you expect. The cause of this issue is not
    obvious from the log files.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When an error occurs while you are indexing the tasks for a full
text search, the exception may not be caught, which causes the
indexing process to continuously retry and many database queries
    to return.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.0.1.1, V8.0.1.2, and V8.5.0.1
that extends the error handling of the task search indexing
process and enhances the trace capabilities. As a result, you
receive better information that you can use for problem
determination in the event of a failure. The errors are written
to the system log files, and a maximum of three attempts occur.
After the three attempts, you must correct the underlying error
and restart the server before resuming the indexing process.
