JR49503: TASK SEARCHES FROM PROCESS PORTAL ARE NOT RETURNING AS MANY TASKS AS EXPECTED ON ORACLE

APAR status

Error description

  • With Oracle as the database, when there are many IBM Business
    Process Manager transactions in a short amount of time, or many
    transactions that occur when a WebSphere cluster node is
    offline, some of the tasks may not get indexed for full text
    search.  As a result, you may not be able to find some of the
    tasks when performing searches from Process Portal.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Incorrect batch sizing in the task search indexing process
    caused some tasks not to be indexed. This problem is specific to
    IBM BPM in the Oracle environment. Other databases were not
    impacted.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.0.1.1, V8.0.1.2, and V8.5.0.1
    that corrects the batch sizing during the task index process in
    the Oracle environment.
    
    On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
    for JR49509 (this fix also contains the fix for JR49503):
    
     1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
    the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
    level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
     2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR49509, and click Continue.
    
    When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
    the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
    additional installation instructions and information about the
    fix.
