    dynamic fields on the storefront

    PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
    Multi-value index columns for unstructured content cannot be
    mapped via wc-business-object-document.xml

    BUSINESS IMPACT:
    Desired fields cannot be displayed

    RECOMMENDATION:

Problem conclusion

  • The SolrReadWebContentViewPartMediator has been corrected to
    handle multi-value index columns. When using this code to map a
     custom index field to a UserData field in the WebContentView
    noun part, ensure that:

    i) the custom index field is returned using the search profile,
    for example:

     <_config:field name="tika_content"/>

    ii) in the wc-business-object-mediator.xml file, under the
    mediator property for the CatalogNavigationView:

    <_config:object
    logicalType="com.ibm.commerce.catalog.facade.datatypes.CatalogNa
    vigationViewType"
    physicalType="com.ibm.commerce.catalog.facade.server.services.se
    arch.metadata.solr.SolrCatalogNavigationViewImpl">
        <_config:mediator
    interfaceName="com.ibm.commerce.foundation.server.services.dataa
    ccess.bom.mediator.ReadBusinessObjectMediator"
    className="com.ibm.commerce.catalog.facade.server.services.dataa
    ccess.bom.mediator.solr.SolrReadCatalogNavigationViewMediator">
       <_config:mediator-properties>
        <_config:mediator-property
    name="WebContentView/UserData[(Name='userContent')]"
    value="tika_content" />
