Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) * * V8.0.1.2 Advanced, Standard, and Express * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Executing JS API * * tw.system.findProcessInstanceByID() * * causes "TWObjectScriptable is not * * registered as supported class for the * * SymboltTable" error. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When executing a javascript in debug mode that calls tw.system.findProcessInstanceByID() and the process contains variable(s) of complex type, the following error may arise: "com.lombardisoftware.core.TeamWorksRuntimeException: Java Class com.lombardisoftware.core.script.js.TWObjectScriptable is not registered as supported class for the SymbolTable" . The problem occurs when trying to serialize the complex variable to XML for displaying on the debug page. This is the exception stack seen in the logs: com.lombardisoftware.core.TeamWorksRuntimeException: Java Class com.lombardisoftware.core.script.js.TWObjectScriptable is not registered as supported class for the SymbolTable at com.lombardisoftware.core.helpers.SymbolTableObjectHelperRegistr y.getJavaClassHelper(SymbolTableObjectHelperRegistry.java:113) at com.lombardisoftware.core.helpers.SymbolTableObjectHelperRegistr y.getJavaClassHelper(SymbolTableObjectHelperRegistry.java:93) at com.lombardisoftware.core.helpers.SymbolTableObjectHelperRegistr y.getTWClassName(SymbolTableObjectHelperRegistry.java:236) at com.lombardisoftware.core.helpers.SymbolTableObjectHelperRegistr y.serializeToXML(SymbolTableObjectHelperRegistry.java:177) at com.lombardisoftware.core.helpers.STHashMapHelper.serializeToXML (STHashMapHelper.java:35)
Problem conclusion
A fix is available for IBM BPM 8.0.1.2 where we handle the serialization to XML properly in debug mode and avoid the error being thrown. On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search for JR49345: 1.Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack level, and your platform, and then click Continue. 2.Select APAR or SPR, enter JR49345, and click Continue. When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for additional installation instructions and information about the fix.
