Error description

  • When the <use-business-aliases-for-process-instances>
configuration flag is set to "true" in the Process Admin Console
under Saved Search Admin, queries that contain newly created
business aliases sometimes display the type of the aliases as
"Unknown". You see this issue between when the new aliases are
created and the business data aliases cache, which is controlled
by a timer (<bdac-refresh-interval> configuration flag), is
    reloaded.

    PRODUCTS AFFECTED:
IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) Advanced
    IBM BPM Standard
    IBM BPM Express

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Newly created business data aliases are not cached
automatically. They are cached only when the cache is refreshed,
which is a timed event. While the cache is refreshed, the type
of those aliases cannot be resolved and are displayed in the
Saved Search Admin UI as ?Unknown?.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.0.1.2 and V8.5.0.1 that
detects Unknown types and refreshes the cache automatically to
return the correct information. The cache resets when the type
of business data aliases cannot be determined.
