JR49168: USER LOGIN TO BPM WILL UPDATE GROUP MEMBERSHIP, BUT DOES NOT UPDATE USER FULL_NAME

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When a user logs into the BPM Process Portal, BPM will update
    its record of the user's group membership, but does not
    recognize changes to the user's full name.
    

Local fix

  • Use the "User Synchronize" function of the Process Admin
    console for the individual user. Note "User Syncronize" does
    not update group membership, but will update full_name.
    
    Do not use the "Full Synchronize", as it will attempt to
    persist ALL users visible in the WebSphere security realm to
    the BPM database, instead of only updating users who are
    already persisted in the BPM database.
    

Problem summary

  • Fullname of the user doesn't get updated by logging in. Changes
    of the fullname, that weren't progressed by using BPM e.g. in a
    LDAP system or file registry aren't visible in BPM.
    
    PROBLEM DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
    BPM didn't check if the fullname had be changed and therefore no
    synchronisation had been triggered as well.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The method for user login checks now if the user's fullname was
    changed. If so, a synchronisation of the user fullname gets
    proceeded.
