    * retrieve process instance details. *

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The BPMREST "current state" API is used to retrieve the
    current state of a process instance. The "ProcessDetails"
    response structure includes the variables associated with the
    top-level BPD instance specified in the request URL, but it
    does not include variables associated with linked
    sub-processes or tasks described within the "executionTree"
    field of the structure.

Problem conclusion

  • The issue is fixed by introducing a new "variables" field to
    the ExecutionTreeNode structure within the ProcessDetails
    response which contains a map of the variables associated with
    that level of the execution tree.
