• The issue happens on Process Designer when you set the web
service integration properties. It prevents you from saving or
recording the dynamic password successfully when you are
designing the web service integration module.

The issue might cause you to receive an "Unauthorized access"
error message when you are trying to discover or invoke a web
service when you use a dynamic password (by setting the
password value in a variable)

Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: IBM Business Process Manager V8.5. This *
* issue occurs only when Process Center is *
* working with Process Designer. *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: On the Web Service Integration module *
* property page, you can configure the *
*                      basic authentication information        *
* using exposed process variable *
* values. You set the JavaScript editor *
* to the JavaScript mode and enter the *
* value with the <#=> wrapper. However, *
* an issue occurs because the value is *
* not saved to repository and, as a *
* result, you receive the ¢â‚¬ “Unauthoriz
* access" error when you click *
* Discover. The web service discovery *
* process cannot complete. This issue *
* might also occur during run time, *
* preventing the server from receiving *
* WSDL from web service provider and *
*                      showing the  ¢â‚¬ “Unauthorized access ¢â
* error in the log file. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
After you set the JavaScript editor to the JavaScript mode and
entered the dynamic variable or exposed process variable as
values, the selected mode of the JavaScript editor should be
stored to the repository. Also, after you click Discover and
run the web service integration, the value from the variable
should be used at run time. However with this issue the
JavaScript mode cannot be saved to the repository and the
runtime environment receives an empty authentication value,
which causes you to receive an ¢â‚¬ “Unauthorized access ¢â‚¬

Problem conclusion

• A Process Designer fix is available that ensures the dynamic
password for the JavaScript mode is correctly saved to the
repository. Because this issue occurs only when Process Center
is working with Process Designer, this fix is not needed for
Process Server.
