Error description

• The OrderItemAccessBean used within promotion evaluation is not
  available for custom code since the methods
  WCSOrderItemFactory.populateOrderItemFromBean(OrderItemAccessBea
  n orderItemBean, OrderItemKey orderItemKey, Object[] aTuple)
  and WCSOrderFactory.populateOrderFromBean(OrderAccessBean
  orderAccessBean, OrderKey orderKey) are declared private.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• USERS AFFECTED:
  WebSphere Commerce customers who want to be able to have custom
  logic that requires access to the OrderItemAccessBean.
  
  PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
  Methods in WCSOrderItemFactory and WCSOrderFactory do not allow
  for customization.
  
  BUSINESS IMPACT:
  Unable to insert custom logic to control applicability for
  promotions such as free gift, based on shipping address.
  
  RECOMMENDATION:
  

Problem conclusion

• The following two method signatures have been modified from
  "private" to "protected":
  1)
  WCSOrderItemFactory.populateOrderItemFromBean(OrderItemAccessBea
  n orderItemBean, OrderItemKey orderItemKey, Object[] aTuple)
  2) WCSOrderFactory.populateOrderFromBean(OrderAccessBean
  orderAccessBean, OrderKey orderKey)
