This is unnecessary because any non-existing file requested by the browser should have already caused a 404 HTTP response. The root cause of this unnecessary exception shows up in any filter that does not properly handle the exception. The last filter in the chain is the CrossSiteScriptingFilter, so it should handle it. These unnecessary exceptions in the system log can make the system log file bigger than usual and make debugging and tracing more difficult.
Problem conclusion
