JR48215: MONITORING EVENTS NOT EMITTED FROM LINKED SUB-PROCESS ASSOCIATED WITH A TOOLKIT

Error description

  • When a process application contains a parent business process
definition (BPD) that calls a linked sub-process BPD that is
defined in a toolkit, then monitoring events are not emitted
from the linked sub-process. The result is that default KPIs
that Business Process Manager provides are not populated with
values. Note that this issue is specific to a linked
sub-process BPD that is defined in a toolkit. If the linked
sub-process BPD and the parent BPD are both associated with
the same process application, then the issue does not occur.

Local fix

  • Refactoring the application so that a linked sub-process BPD is
included in the same process application as the parent BPD
rather than in a toolkit will result in values for default KPIs.

Logic to retrieve the execution context searched at the level
of the toolkit rather than the level of the process
application associated with the calling BPD.

Problem conclusion

  • Logic to retrieve the execution context was revised to search
at the level of the process application associated with the
BPD that called the linked sub-process.

An interim fix has been created for IBM Business Process
    Manager version 8.0.1.1.
