Error description

  • Unable to refresh table
    
    Receiving error:
    
    Unable to load table data from database. A SQL exception has
    occurred. The SQL error code is '0'. The SQL state is: HY000.
    The error message is:
    [CDC][Oracle JDBC Driver]Transliteration failed, reason: invalid
    UTF8 data
    

Local fix

  • Remove the  FAILOVER_MODE parameter in the tns names.
    

Problem summary

  • ISCDC 6.5.1 for Oracle Redo might hit a "transliteration error"
    while refreshing a table when the tns names entry corresponding
    to this instance contains the FAILOVER_MODE parameter set to
    SELECT.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This is a third party issue.
    

Temporary fix

  • Remove the parameter FAILOVER_MODE=SELECT from the tns names
    entry.
