Error description

  • The installation script for Process Designer incorrectly
    determines that the operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit for
    IBM BPM 8.5.0.0.
    

Local fix

  • Workaround instructions for installProcessDesigner_nonadmin.bat:
    1. After downloading and upzipping the PD distribution, find the
    "installProcessDesigner_nonadmin.bat" scipt.
    2. Open this script in a text editior, i.e. Notepad or Notepad++
    3. Find the following line: findstr /C:"x64" %TEMP_LOG_FILE% >>
    %LOG_FILE% 2>&1
    4. Replace "x64" with "x64-based PC"
    5. Save the file.
    6. Rerun "installProcessDesigner_nonadmin.bat"
    
    The same changes are needed for
    "installProcessDesigner_admin.bat" if this scripted is used.

    *                  "installProcessDesigner_nonadmin.bat"       *
    *                  script in a text editor.                    *

    When you try to install Process Designer, the installation
    script incorrectly determines the bitness of the operating
    system.
    On IBM BPM V8.5.0.0, you can use the above workaround to fix
    the problem. This problem is fixed in IBM BPM V8.5.0.1.
