APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• JR46386 changes the server-side encryption method. Therefore,
  if a shopper's browser stores an old WC_USERACTIVITY cookie,
  then the shopper cannot browse the store until the shopper
  clears the browser cookies and logs into the store.
  Many invalid cookie errors are logged in the SystemOut.log file
  due to this issue.
  

Local fix

• Shopper can clear browser cookies and re-login.

   WebSphere Commerce users on v7.0 with JR46386 installed.
  
  
   PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
   Lots of exceptions in the log related to cookie issues after
  applying JR46386.
  
  
   BUSINESS IMPACT:
   Shoppers cannot browse the store without clearing cookies and
   re-login. Also, log files are cluttered with cookie exceptions
   which might make it hard for administrators to troubleshoot
   through the log file.
  

Problem conclusion

• Provide a ValidateRequestCmd command that users can customize to
  
  silently invalidate old cookies and redirect a shopper to the
  login page. This way, exceptions are avoided in the
  SystemOut.log file.
