Error description

  • In Process Portal the REST API
    /rest/bpm/wle/v1/exposed is called and hangs for 50 seconds or
    longer and eventually times out. On time out you see the error
    "You are not authorized to launch any processes".

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED:  BPM Portal user who wants to show           *
    *                  available processes.                        *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: User sees a problem where Process       *
    *                      Portal will no longer show the          *
    *                      available processes. When tracing the   *
    *                      browser session, the URL                *
    *                      /rest/bpm/wle/v1/exposed is called      *
    *                      and hangs for 50 seconds or longer,     *
    *                      eventually times out. At this point     *
    *                      the Portal loads, but the message       *
    *                      in the launch area is "You are not      *
    *                      authorized to launch any                *
    *                      processes". This is a false             *
    *                      message because this problem only       *
    *                      occurs when the above call gets slow.   *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

    Slow response in BPM Portal to display available processes.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Code was fixed to use the correct API for the query.
    
    IFix file is available in Fix Central. Installation
    instruction can be downloaded together with the iFix file.
    

Temporary fix

  • Remove any old snapshots & apps in the environment which
    reduces large amount of DB calls. It will improve the
    performance.
