APAR status

Error description

  • When using the Accelerator marketing tool, each time the
    business user makes a change to a web activity, the entire
    CampaignInitiativeCache registry is cleared. As well, the
    registry clear is broadcast to every clone (JVM).
    
     When there are a large number of extended sites and several
    business users using Accelerator on the production site to
    modify web activities, and a large number of JVMs, each change
    by a business user causes a noticeable performance impact on the
    production site due to the clearing of the registry.

  • Use the Management Center Marketing tool.

Problem conclusion

  • The code was modified to support an additional configuration
    property
    (CampaignInitiativeCacheClearLocalCacheAndCreateBroadcastJob) to
     specify that when a business user makes a change to a web
    activity in Accelerator, the CampaignInitiativeCache should not
    be cleared, and a broadcast job should not be created to clear
    the registry on every clone.
    
     1. Add the following line in <WC_eardir>xmlconfigwc-server.xml
    in the main <InstanceProperties> section.
     <CampaignInitiativeCacheClearLocalCacheAndCreateBroadcastJob
    enabled="false"/>
    
     For example:
     <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
     <config>
         <InstanceProperties>
    
    <CampaignInitiativeCacheClearLocalCacheAndCreateBroadcastJob
    enabled="false"/>
             .......
    
     2. Restart the server.
    
     Additionally, the business needs to schedule a periodic
    clearing of the CampaignInitiativeCache to pick up the latest
    changes from business users.
