Error description

  • WebSphere Application Server optimizes EJB client performance
by caching already looked up implementation classes. Managed
assets within Business Process Manager are internally using
a special class loader that has incompatible behavior for the
    WebSphere Application Server cache.

Adding an jar file to a process app or toolkit which contains an
ejb client may result in a ClassCastException.
WebSphere Application Server uses a caching strategy for those
ejb client class files what can lead to incompatibilities with
the class loading strategy of BPM.
This interim fix changes the class loading strategy so that
WebSphere Application Server cansafely cache those classes.

Problem summary

  • WebSphere Application Server optimizes EJB client performance
by caching already looked up implementation classes. Managed
assets within Business Process Manager are internally using

WebSphere Application Server uses a caching strategy for those
EJB client class files what can lead to incompatibilities with
the class loading strategy of BPM.
This interim fix changes the class loading strategy so that
WebSphere Application Server can safely cache those classes.

Problem conclusion

  • This interim fix changes the class loader behavior so the
WebSphere Application Server cache will work correctly.
