Error description

  • Approving a task group in Management Center fails with an
    exception similar to the following appearing in the log:
    
     Caused by:
     com.ibm.commerce.content.facade.server.exception.ContentApplica
    tionException: The task group ID is not found as part of the
    request.
             at
    com.ibm.commerce.content.facade.server.commands.soi.TaskGroupMes
    sageMappingCmdImpl.invokeCommand(TaskGroupMessageMappingCmdImpl.
    java:156)
             at
    com.ibm.commerce.foundation.server.command.soi.MessageMappingCmd

     The log message indicates the task group id is not found in the
    request, however the task group id does appear, similar to the
    following:

    2345&identityId=1234567&locale=en_US&timeZoneId=America%2FNew_Yo

Local fix

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
     Websphere Commerce v7 users who have Fixpack 3 or later and
    Feature pack 2 is installed
    
     PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
     Approving a task group fails in Management Center fails with  a
    "task group id" not found message.
    
     BUSINESS IMPACT:
     Users will not be able to approve task groups.
    
     RECOMMENDATION:
    

Problem conclusion

  • The situation is caused by a  mismatch between the feature pack
    code and the fix pack code. The request is using "taskGroupId"
    but WebSphere Commerce is checking for "taskgroupId" (note the
    case sensitivity).  The code was updated to resolve the
    mismatch.
