APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Rename a folder in DataStage Designer.
  Old folder still remains in DataStage Director and a new
  folder shows up with the renamed name
  

Local fix

Problem summary

  Users renaming folders in designer
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  If a folder is renamed in the designer then the director
  continues to
  display the old folder name. It also loses track of some of the
  compiled jobs in folder further down the tree. This is caused by
  a
  failure to keep the xmeta (design time) repository in synch with
  the
  runtime repository stored in engine hash files.
  ****************************************************************
  RECOMMENDATION:
  Install APAR JR47525 (which includes this fix)
  The patch should be applied to rectify the interaction between
  the designer and client.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem was resolved by changing the client to have it
  request the folder name for each job which exists in the renamed
   folder or below it in the folder tree.
  

Temporary fix

• The old folder name can be deleted manually from the DS_JOBS
  file on the server and the director display corrected
  asmentioned in the circumvention.
