APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Dataload terminates with an error when it encounters a null
  character in the input data,  An exception similar to the
  following may be seen in the logs:
  
   An unexpected error has occurred. The error is An invalid XML
  character (Unicode: 0x0) was found in the element content: .

   Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: An invalid XML character
  (Unicode: 0x0) was found in the element content:
     at
  org.eclipse.emf.ecore.xmi.impl.XMLSaveImpl$Escape.convert(XMLSav
  eImpl.java:3020)
  
   This causes the Dataload operation to stop, even if maxError=0
  was specified when running the load.
  

Local fix

• Remove the records that contain null characters from the input
  file.

   WebSphere Commerce V7 users running Dataload with null
  characters in their input data.
  
   PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
   Dataload halts when it encounters a null character 0x0000 in
  the input data.

Problem conclusion

• The code has been updated to skip over the records that contain
  null characters and continue processing the remainder of the
