APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When leveraging the DOM integration flow and checking the
  available inventory in the INVAVL table, excessive
  GetInventoryAvailability calls may be made to the external
  system if the available quantity is below the configured
  threshold.
  

Local fix

• Increase the AVAILQUANTITY in the INVAVL table to be higher than
   the configured threshold, or set the LASTUPDATE field to
  reflect a timestamp in the future.

   WebSphere Commerce users on v7.0 leveraging the DOM inventory
  model.
  
   PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
   Excessive GetInventoryAvailability calls are made when the
  available INVAVL inventory quantity is below the threshold

Problem conclusion

• The solution provided is to add a threshold check before making
  the call to check the DOM inventory records. If the current
  cached quantity is 0, a call will not be made to check inventory
   but will rather wait for the DOM inventory system to push the
  data to WebSphere Commerce when the product is in stock again.
