Error description

  • integration service with 2 end states(A, B) is referred by
    multiple sub
services with two end states in a human service. If change one
    sub
    service output end state
binding from A to B, the other output end state binding of this
    sub
service stay and not automatically changed from B to A, so that
    it has
two ouput end state binding as B. The worse case is that the
    other sub
services are also impacted, both output state bidnings are
    turned out as
    A.

Problem summary

  • If an integration service has 2 or more end states, and it is
included 2 times or more in a human service, when the user tries
to switch the end state bindings, which are in conflict, they
will observe the links get incorrectly set after the switch.

    USER AFFECTED:
Business Process Manager Advanced, Standard and Express
authoring users who try to switch the end state bindings, which
are in conflict, in a human service.

    PROBLEM DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
The problem was a mis-calculation in determining the link that
is in conflict. As a result, a different link was picked to be
switched, and user will see the links incorrectly set. To avoid
the problem, delete the end state links that the user wants to
switch and re-create them accordingly afterwards.

    Reproduction steps:
    1. Create a human service, within it create some sub nested
    services.
    2. Build a integration servcice with two end states A and B
    3. Attach above integration service to all sub nested service.
    4. Create two different end states for each sub neted service
    and
    dra
    5. Change on sub service end state binding behavior from B to A
    6. Save service

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR will not fix the end state links that are already in
the incorrect state. User will have to delete and re-create
them to correct the problem. Rather this APAR fixed the Process
Designer logic in determining the link that is in conflict. Now
the end state links switching will work properly after applying
    the APAR.
