Problem summary

  • Complex nested business objects failed to resolve in some cases.

    USER AFFECTED:
Business Process Manager Advanced, Standard and Express.

    PROBLEM DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
The Coach framework has always supported recursive data
structures - however; in this case, the nested structures were
in a form that the resolution algorithm was failing. The key
scenario was multiple recursive structures, under different
paths of the same Business Object. These paths were being
processed in parallel, using the same cache objects, and hence
were overlapping and intefering with each other.

Problem conclusion

  • The issue has been fixed in all releases beyond and including
8.0.1. The code change essentially involved retaining cached
data until such time it could be garbage collected, instead of
diligently cleaning up. The algorithm was attempting to always
clean up after itself when resolving items, however, this
cleanup (removal of items from the cache) caused a parallel
    resolution to run infinitely.
