Error description

  • Timer events are respecting blackout calendars only, if the
blackout calendar's rules are all based on the "Date/Time
    Range".
Rules based on the "Weekday/Time Range" are ignored, which
causes the timer events to fire at the specified date/time,
even if that date/time is ruled-out by the blackout calendar.

Problem summary

  • Problem Description:
In the ProcessAdmin Console, under Event Manager > Blackout
    Peroids,
you can specify blackout periods. During these periods no
    scheduled events should be fired.
There are 2 possibilities to specify these periods:
    - via Date/Time Range or
    - via Weekday/Time Range.

If you specify Timer events using the Date/Time Range, the
    system works as expected.
This is, during the blackout period no scheduled events are
    fired.
If you specify Timer event using the Weekday/Time Range, the
    specified intervals are
ignored, this is: even during the intervals specified as
    blackout periods, scheduled
    events are fired.

    Problem Summary:
The problem was that the algorithm that determines whether a
period is blacked out or not had a subtle flaw.

Problem conclusion

  • Problem Conclusion:
The algorithm that detects the blackout periods was corrected.
