Error description

  • If a process instance ID has a value that is greater than 1000,

relation to that process instance might cause an exception
    related to the IBM_BPM_Portal application.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • You see the following message:

    Error: Could not start event!

This issue occurs because the number of the bpmInstanceId
parameter is not properly converted when it is sent to the
server. As a result, for an ID that is greater than 1000 and
contains a comma (such as ID 1,200), you receive an error when
IBM BPM tries to identify a process.

Problem conclusion

  • Fixes for IBM BPM V7.5.1.1 and 8.0.1.0 are available that
ensure proper number format handling when transmitting
    parameters to server.
