Error description

• There is performance issue with creation and publishing of
  increased number of unique promotions using the Websphere
  Commerce Workspace tooling. When high number(Eg. in the million)
   of  unique promotions are created for publishing using the
  workspace console there is a significant in performance where
  the process takes very long time.

Problem conclusion

• A code enhancement is added to the APAR JR45152 and the
  dependency APAR JR45153(Installed on Feature pack 5) to:
  
  1. Allow increased number of unique promotion code generation in
  workspaces. Earlier this task took close to 7 hours to generate
  10 million promotion codes. This code fix has reduced it to less
  than an hour. Thus, an 85% reduction in generation time from
  before.
  
  2. Allow Workspace entries to commit and publish to production.
  Earlier generating 10 million promotion codes resulted in 20
  million database rows. This code fix  has effectively reduced
  this data by half so that now one could create 10 million
  database rows for 10 million codes.
  
  3. Allow the handling of Unique key violations. Committing data
  to base schema from workspaces would often result in duplicate
  key exceptions which would then require manual fixing from the
  customer. This code has been fixed to not allow duplicate
  entries in the database.
  
  4. The code has been enhanced further to reduced the time it
  takes to generate promotion codes in base schema by around 10%.
  
  
  Note: Both JR45152 and APAR JR45153 need to be installed for
  this fix to work.
