APAR status

Error description

• Internet Explorer 8 shows  bad preformance
  because static content is not  marked beeing cacheable.
  

Local fix

• use a different Browser  that has a different
  caching  machanism.
  

Problem summary

• Poor performance of coaches on IE8 (Internet Explorer) compared
  to IE > 8 and Firefox
  
  USER AFFECTED:
  Users using IE8
  
  PROBLEM DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
  There is no expiration header (at least not setting to the
  future date) being set for static files for New Generation
  Coach, which results in browser not  caching them.  Without
  that, browser will still keep sending request to server and
  waiting for 304 (Not modified) because browser did not cache
  them.
  
  ADDITIONAL INFO:
  Important: For organizations who have customized Process Portal,
  http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/dmndhelp/v8r0mx/topic/com.ibm.
  wbpm.admin.doc/topics/cadm_portal_customoverview.html, the
  customizations will have to be re-applied after applying or
  removing this fix.
  
  The fix for JR45092 supersedes fixes for JR43175, JR43760,
  JR43758, JR43944, JR44335, JR44831. Applying the fix for JR45092
  yields the benefits provided by the superseded APAR fixes.
  

Problem conclusion

• Added a caching filter to cache static files (like images) for a
  period of 24 hrs.
