Error description

  • DESCRIPTION:
    
    In Process Portal, the following behavior may occur
    intermittently, for a given task:
    
    1) The task cannot be launched (clicking on the task only shows
    the task details and business data).
    
    2) The Actions dropdown menu for the task is not displayed.
    

Local fix

  • Refreshing the browser page has been observed to resolve this
    issue when observed, but not every time.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In Process Portal, the following        *
    *                      behavior may occur intermittently, for  *
    *                      a given task:                           *
    *                      1) The task cannot be launched          *
    *                      (clicking on the task only shows        *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    In Process Portal, after having rendered a task list, the REST
    API /rest/bpm/wle/v1/task/actions?taskIDs=... is
    invoked to request the available actions for the current user.
    This API call had a performance issue which caused
    the task list to not allow the user to open a task, resulting
    in the instance details being displayed and the Actions
    dropdown menu not displaying for the task.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The implementation of the REST API was modified to request
    database information in an optimized way and cache information
    if possible.
    
    An interim fix for Business Process Manager Version 8.0.0.0 has
    been published to Fix Central.  Please refer to the separate
    file that is automatically downloaded with the interim fix
    for prerequisite information and installation/uninstallation
    instructions.
