APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • French localized installation of "IBM InfoSphere Information
Server Pack for SAP Applications V7.0" will fail due to error in
the plugin_abappack.jar present on the installation image.

Issue is only present for French version.

The French version of the
plugin_abappack\plugin_abappack\META-INF\fr\StageDsc.xml file
present in .jar package
ISPackForSAP\ISPackForSAPServer\payload\plugin_abappack.jar is
not well-formed : a double quote is missing in the label for
element DSRFC_PROGID

Local fix

  • N/A

Problem summary

  • The French language install completes fine but the ABAP plugin
jar is not deployed
rendering the ABAP plugin unusable. In the installation log an
error is displayed:
"Echec de l'installation du module" (Module installation
Failure)
and
"Exception d'analyse syntaxique lors du traitement du
gestionnaire de type" (Syntax error)

Note: installation logs can be found at
InformationServer/logs/ISInstall*.log

Problem conclusion

  • Corrected the jar file mentioned above. A patch is available for
Windows (tested by QA) and also patches are ready for testing
for the other platforms (will be tested and delivered as
needed).
