APAR status

Error description

  • On a system which has AsynchronousSalesCategoryLink enabled, the
    following procedure is an example of how to reproduce the
    problem:
    
    1) Logon to Commerce Management Center (CMC) as a Workspace
    Content Contributor
    2) Work on a task (T1)
    3) Open the Catalogs tool for the store 'Extended Sites Catalog
    Asset Store'.
    4) Create a Sales Catalog, a top category and a subcategory.
    5) Link a category from the Master Catalog to the new
    subcategory in the Sales Catalog.
    6) Check the Scheduler status and wait for the linking to
    complete.
    
    Observed Results:
    The ScheduledCatalogGroupLinkCmd keeps running on the Scheduler
    and does not fail. The category link does not succeed.
    The linking of products to the same sales subcategory works
    fine. The catalog created in the Workspace schema could not be
    found by the Scheduler.
    
    Expected Results:
    The scheduled command should finish and successfully link the
    category.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
    V7 system which has AsynchronousSalesCategoryLink enabled and
    workspaces.
    
    PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
    Issues linking Sales Catalog to Master Catalog when workspaces
    are enabled
    
    BUSINESS IMPACT:
    Can not link Category to SalesCatalog
    
    RECOMMENDATION:
    

Problem conclusion

  • Workspace support does not exist for the Scheduler framework.
    This fix checks if the catalog is created as part of a Workspace
    task and links the Catalog group without using the Scheduler
    job.
