JR41658: ENVIRONMENT VARIABLE EDITOR IN BPM 7.5.1 DOES NOT ALLOW DOTS IN NAMES

Error description

  • The recommendation for naming of environment variables had
been to use dot separated names (com.principal.servers.smtp.name
for example). This worked very well with command line completion
in the javascript editor when using the tw.env namespace. The
7.5.1 version does not allow you to enter names with dots. This
conflicts with the previous guidance. Also, many of the IBM
provided toolkits make use of the dot separated naming standard.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    In Process Designer, a Process
    Application Environment
    Variable Editor does
not allow you to enter environment
variable names with dots. This was a regression over previous
versions of the product where the same was allowed.

Problem conclusion

  • The regression was fixed via IFIX JR42012.
The iFix has been published in Fix Central.

The fix is available as a part of the JR42012 ifix package
    (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1JR42012)
and needs to be installed as follows:
    - Install JR42012 on both Process Designer and Process
    Center/Server using IM
    - On Process Center/Server run bpmprofileUpgrade as outlined in
    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27022245#recove
